Musa ‘Dwarf Cavendish’ are mostly grown for foliage.  It has enormous paddle shaped green leaves, young plants have very attractive maroon markings. If you are fortunate enough to get fruit you can eat them – unlike the musa Basjoo that is full of seed.  Fabulous tropical looking plant.  Can be kept as a houseplant in the winter.  This variety is named after William Cavendish, the 6th duke of Devonshire.

Sun/Shade: Full sun/ Partial shade

Soil Conditions: Moist but well drained soil.

Hardy/winter protection: Tender, will need to be brought in for the winter, it is also happy as a houseplant.
